Reinstalling PixEdit Server / Converter Server (Without Losing Configuration)

Instructions for Uninstalling and Reinstalling PixEdit Server

Step 1: Uninstall PixEdit Server

  1. Open the Control Panel on the server.
  2. Select Programs and Features (or Add or Remove Programs, depending on your Windows version).
  3. Find PixEdit Server in the list of installed programs and uninstall it.

Step 2: Backup Required Files

  1. Navigate to C:\docserver and copy jobprofiles.xml to a temporary storage location.
  2. Go to C:\program files\PixEdit Server\inputconnector and copy inputconfigurations.config to the same storage location.

Step 3: Clean Existing Files

  1. Delete the contents of C:\docserver.
  2. Delete the entire PixEdit Server folder under C:\program files, including all subdirectories.

Step 4: Reinstall PixEdit Server

  1. Download the latest installation file for PixEdit Server from our download page or a recommended source.
  2. Run the installer and complete the installation by following the instructions.

Step 5: Restore Backed-Up Files

  1. After the installation is complete, copy the backed-up files back to their original locations:
    • Copy jobprofiles.xml to C:\docserver.
    • Copy inputconfigurations.config to C:\program files\PixEdit Server\inputconnector.

Step 6: Verify Services

  1. Open Services in Windows by typing services.msc in the Run window.
  2. Check that all PixEdit services are created and running as expected.
